Four segments of Brookhaven sidewalks are being constructed and should be completed within four weeks.

At the June 21 City Council meeting, the council approved a $324,120 bid to Precise Development Group to construct sidewalks from:

  • Ashford-Dunwoody Road from Kadleston Way to Brookhaven Hill Road (west side) — a total of 425 linear feet for $76,995.
  • Donaldson Drive from Bubbling Creek Road to Runnymeade Road (south side) — a total of 1,250 linear feet for $99,475.
  • North Druid Hills Road from Arrington Place to Lenox Park Boulevard (west side) — a total of 1,350 linear feet for $101,300.
  • Goodwin Road from Shady Valley Road to East Roxboro Road (south side) — a total of 550 linear feet for $46,350.

  1. Thank you for the information. The avg cost per foot is between $75 and $85 other than the first project which is $178/foot – very pricey. There is a total of 0.68 miles so total cost per mile is $475,000 which seems very high. I had thought sidewalks cost $100,000 per mile based on a few years’ ago estimates and $200,000 based on recent expenses. If there are 20 miles of sidewalks to be installed (guessing), we are looking at $9MM to $10MM for sidewalk installations in next few years.
