A mixed-use project with four high-rise towers might be built on top of the MARTA Arts Center station behind the Woodruff Arts Center and High Museum. According to a report in the AJC, MARTA’s board of directors has agreed to enter into exclusive discussions with Cousins Properties and Integral Group to develop the project on the 6.2-acre Arts Center site. The preliminary proposal includes a combination of residential, retail, office and a hotel.
Architect Henri Jova’s iconic Trust Company Bank building on Monroe Drive is under threat of demolition to make way for a storage facility, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. The futuristic, circular building was constructed in 1962 and is now home to Cirque restaurant and bar.
The Longhorn Steakhouse at Tocco Hills destroyed by fire will finally reopen on Monday, Aug. 8, at 4 p.m. Located at 2892 North Druid Hills Road, Longhorn first opened its Toco Hills location in 1983, but has been closed since June 2014 due to a fire. The 5,620 square-foot restaurant will seat more than 200 guests.
