A two-week lane closure on Johnson Ferry Road in Sandy Springs originally slated to begin Sept. 16 has been postponed to Sept. 23.

The closure will affect the two eastbound lanes of Johnson Ferry between Roswell Road and Sandy Springs Circle. The closure is for work to assemble a 197-foot-tall crane to help build the performing arts center at the city’s City Springs project.

The postponement is due to some “logistical issues with the steel” related to the crane’s work, according to city spokesperson Dan Coffer. The city noted the lane closure will now happen after the Sandy Springs Festival, which will be held in the same downtown area Sept. 17 and 18.
