MARTA to host Buckhead meeting on expansion plan

MARTA plans to host a public meeting at its headquarters in Buckhead on its proposed expansion plan.

The “More MARTA” plan includes adding light rail from the Lindbergh MARTA Station to Emory University, new transit centers and several new bus routes. The plan is funded with a half-penny sales tax approved by voters in 2016 that is expected to generate nearly $2.5 billion for transit expansion over the next 40 years.

The meeting is planned for Aug. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at MARTA Headquarters, 2424 Piedmont Road.
