Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has appointed Peter Kadushin as Director of Communications for the City of Atlanta. Kadushin most recently served as Senior Communications Advisor, and previously Director of Communications, for Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, where he managed the communications office and led social media, local and national media strategies. Prior to his service to Detroit, Kadushin served as Deputy Director of Communications for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The restored “Battle of Atlanta” painting moved from Grant Park to the new Cyclorama at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead is set to debut on Feb. 22. The massive 1886 painting depicting the Civil War battle stands 49 feet tall, is longer than a football field, weighs 10,000 pounds, and is only one of two cycloramas in the United States.
