An appeal by various Midtown stakeholders to stop giant digital billboards on the side and top of this building has failed.

The city’s Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) on June 6 shot down an appeal by Midtown stakeholders opposed to two massive digital billboards on the side of and atop a building at 1655 Peachtree Street in Midtown. The empty building is a well-known landmark to drivers on the Downtown Connector because of the giant peach on its roof. One of the billboards takes up the entire north face of the building, while another is underneath the peach. Tazmedia Group said the billboards were legal, but stakeholders, including Midtown Alliance, may take the issue to court. Curbed Atlanta has more at this link.
