A fast-casual restaurant is headed for Dunwoody that specializes in platters and sandwiches stuffed with chicken, gyro or falafel.

The Halal Guys plans a new location at 237 Perimeter Center Parkway, Suite #H-61, according to a spokeswoman for the restaurant chain. Franchise owner Joe Hafez is hoping to open the location in April or May.

The restaurant will be located in Park Center, which is anchored by State Farm and includes other new restaurants such as Indian restaurant Sankranti.

The Halal Guys started in 1990 as a street cart in New York City. The chain recently announced it opened its 100th store in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Halal Guys first came to Georgia in 2017, opening a restaurant in Chamblee to long lines. It has since expanded to Midtown and Duluth, with another location set to open this month in Buford, Ga.

“We look forward to continuing to break down even more barriers, open new doors, and introduce more tastebuds to our unique flavors,” the company said in an announcement about its 100th location.
