Jerry’s Habima Theatre, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta’s (MJCCA) inclusive theater company, will take on Stephen Sondheim with “Into the Woods JR.” this March.

Jerry’s Habima Theater is a professional theater company that features actors with disabilities and special needs in main roles. This production marks the theater’s 31st season, according to a press release.

“We’ve created a vibrant community where actors with special needs showcase their talents, build lifelong skills, and forge lasting friendships,” said Jerry’s Habima Theatre Founding Artistic Producer Kim Goodfriend in the release. “With about 90% of our actors returning each year and performances selling out, it’s clear that our program resonates deeply within the community. The MJCCA’s commitment to this program underlines the significance of what we offer — an inclusive space where actors and audiences alike can explore and celebrate the richness of human experience through theater.”

“Into the Woods JR.” reimagines Sondheim and James Lapine’s classic musical for a younger audience. The show weaves together classic fairy tales like “Cinderella” and “Jack and the Beanstalk,” the characters embarking on a journey into the woods to learn important lessons about wishes and responsibilities.

The production will run from March 7-17 at the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre at 5342 Tilly Mill Road. Tickets can be purchased online
