Atlanta food justice and meal delivery organization Open Hand will hold its annual, metro-wide fundraising event, Dining Out for Life, on Wednesday, April 24.

This year’s fundraiser will see over 60 restaurants from across Atlanta participating, including Taqueria Del Sol, Chai Pani, BoccaLupo, Muss and Turner’s, Table and Main, and Miller Union

People can dine in or order takeout during breakfast, lunch, and dinner from restaurants involved in the April 24 fundraiser. A portion of the sales from each restaurant will benefit Open Hand and its mission to deliver 5,000 healthy meals to homebound senior citizens and chronically ill, disabled, or food-insecure people living around Atlanta. Open Hand delivers nutritious meals to thousands of Atlantans each year, most living below the federal poverty line.

In 2023, Dining Out for Life raised nearly $154,000 for Open Hand, with the organization also reaching a significant milestone last year of serving its 35th millionth meal since its founding in 1993. Open Hand has since grown into one of the country’s largest food justice and meal delivery organizations, offering services in 43 of Georgia’s 159 counties.
