Livable Buckhead will host its sixth annual 5K race, buckheadRUN! this May during the opening weekend of buckheadWALKS!.
buckheadRUN! returns on Saturday, May 4. The race is part of Buckhead Village District’s Bodacious Blooms festival, a three-day celebration of spring featuring larger-than-life floral installations and community-wide events. Runners are encouraged to dress in flower-themed garb, and prizes will be given to the best adult and youth costumes.
buckheadRUN! is open to runners of all ages and abilities. In addition to awards for the fastest runners in various age groups, buckheadRUN! includes a “Fastest Fido” category, a pre-race hype event and post-race celebration.
Top male and female runners will win a $250 gift card for Big Peach Running Co., a $100 Simon gift card for Lenox Square, and a one-night stay for two and breakfast at Three Arches at Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta. The “Fastest Fido” earns a one-year membership to Fetch Park Buckhead. buckheadRUN! registration is $45 for adults and $25 for children.
The race takes place during opening weekend of buckheadWALKS!, a four-week walk challenge where Buckhead residents and workers compete for prizes by walking as many steps as possible, as well as joining in on activities including scavenger hunts or Buckhead walking tours. buckheadWALKS! registration is open to anyone who lives or works in Buckhead.
The winning buckheadWALKS! team earns a $250 Simon gift card. The individual who earns the most points will receive a two-night stay at InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta and dinner for two at the Americano, a one-year family membership to Atlanta History Center and a $100 lululemon gift card.
