Tucker will host a Small Business Resource Expo for area business owners and entrepreneurs on Aug. 15 from 1:30-4 p.m.
Now in its second year, the SBRE will be held at Tucker’s City Hall Annex at 4228 First Avenue with expanded offerings to help local businesses thrive and grow.
The expo is open to all business owners and those who want to open a business in Tucker. City staff will be in attendance to provide guidance and additional aid.
A statement by the city said the inaugural event exceeded attendance expectations.
“Last year being our first such expo here in Tucker, you never know what to expect. We were thrilled to have over 100 folks from across the metro come to check it out,” Angela Brooks, Tucker’s Economic Development Business Outreach Specialist and event coordinator said. “Understanding that small business owners wear multiple hats, our main goal is to bring numerous resource offerings to them in one place.”
The expo will include a kick-off session with Tucker Mayor Frank Auman, as well as an expanded list of resource agencies and providers. Attendees can meet with experts on marketing and branding, obtaining loans or grants, writing a business plan, HR services and workforce training.
Onsite representatives will include:
- Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) Women’s Business Center
- Bank of America Small Business Services
- Latin American Association
- Workplace Learning Solutions, Inc.
- Small Business Development Center
- DeKalb Chamber of Commerce
- Georgia Piedmont Technical College
- Georgia Power
- WorkSource DeKalb
- Latin-American Chamber of Commerce
- State Small Business Credit Initiative
- Tucker Business Association
At 2:00 p.m., the Bank of America is sponsoring a Financial Services Workshop with limited space. Those interested in this workshop must register in advance here.
“Not only do we get to interact with a myriad of business owners in one setting, but we also get an opportunity to court new entrepreneurs to come to Tucker,” Brooks said.
Those planning on attending should register online.
