The cast for “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Art Farm at Serenbe includes two “American Idol” alumni.

Melinda Doolittle and Diana DeGarmo will star in the Art Farm’s first musical theater production as part of Serenbe’s Under the Tent Series, according to a press release. “Little Shop of Horrors” follows a timid flower shop assistant named Seymour who bites off a little more than he can chew when he discovers an unusual talking plant that feeds on human flesh. The show has music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and premiered Off-Broadway in 1982.

DeGarmo will star as Audrey, Seymour’s coworker and love interest, while Doolittle will star as the plant, named Audrey II. DeGarmo was the runner-up of “American Idol’s” third season while Doolittle came in third on the sixth season.

According to the release, Art Farm is partnering with Nashville’s Matt Logan Productions to produce a version of the show adapted for a traveling big-top tent. The show will run from Sept. 20-29, and tickets are available online.
