Slater Hospitality, the team behind The Roof at Ponce City Market, will open Verse Immersive, an all-new Augmented Reality (AR) experience, on The Roof beginning Saturday, Aug. 31.
Verse Immersive uses AR visors to bring 3D characters and stories to life, offering guests an immersive experience as they walk around with interactive tales unfolding before their eyes.
Guests can expect a 30-, 60-, or 90-minute journey during which AR visors will put them at the center of an interactive and engaging story. AR, unlike VR, allows guests to roam freely throughout the room while still seeing and interacting with their surroundings. Because AR visors are see-through, this also means that guests do not need to worry about motion sickness. Five experiences will be offered at Verse Immersive on The Roof, and all are appropriate for ages 7 and up:
- Primal Ranch: Guests use hand and voice commands to tame, train, and battle life-sized dinosaurs against Muto-Organic Beasts threatening civilization. Guests also explore the alluring world of Eclipse Town, a frontier colony at the edge of space.
- The Unreal Garden: Wearing AR glasses, guests use hand and voice commands to interact with life-size animals, vibrant landscapes, and fairy-tale plants while discovering a variety of creatures and completing interactive magic puzzles.
- Star Walk: Guests use hand and voice commands to interact with planets, asteroids, stars, and other cosmic bodies while listening to selections from Beethoven. Guests are invited to test their knowledge of space by answering a variety of trivia questions regarding each celestial object.
- Art of the Future: An immersive AR art gallery which brings guests into the future of art, discovering groundbreaking artwork that pushes the boundaries of imagination while exploring the latest trends in digital art, virtual reality, and interactive installations. Guests are invited to test their knowledge to spot the difference between famous art pieces, pieces from up-and-coming artists, and AI generated art.
- Astro League: During this high-stakes action game where skill determines the fate of humanity, guests wear AR glasses and rotate 360 degrees to blast incoming asteroids from every direction. With a Multiplayer Combat option, guests choose to go head-to-head against a friend or family member to see who achieves the highest score.
Tickets can be purchased onsite or in advance at www.verseatlanta.com. Tickets are $39 for a 30-minute experience which includes admission to The Roof. Access to other games and rides on The Roof can be purchased separately upon arrival.
