Atlanta voters will head to the polls once more to decide who will fill a citywide seat on the city council.

Eshé Collins and Nicole “Nikki” Evans Jones are in the runoff election to fill Post 3 At-Large seat to fill the unexpired term of Keisha Sean Waites. Waites stepped down from the council seat in March to run for for Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts. Her bid was unsuccessful.

The last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, Nov. 22. Early voting in Fulton and DeKalb counties begin Saturday, Nov. 23 and runs through Nov. 27. Election day is Dec. 3.

Registered voters, including those who did not vote in the council special election race on Nov. 5, are eligible to vote in the the runoff election.

The winner in the runoff election will fill the seat until the end of next December. That means they would have to run again next year to stay on the city council.

The Center for Civic Innovation hosted a forum featuring Collins and Jones on Nov. 12 and it can be watched on YouTube.

CCI is also part of the #VoteATL coalition and has profiles and interviews with both candidates.

The Committee for a Better Atlanta scored the candidates and posted questionnaires for Collins and Jones.
