Jamaican food truck Irie Mon Cafe now includes a restaurant stall inside Politan Row in Midtown. Irie Mon Cafe is owned by father and daughter Christopher and Peyton Williams.
SKOL Brewing
55 Carnegie Way, Downtown
The Viking-themed brewery and restaurant SKOL Brewing Company opened in downtown Atlanta at the 200 Peachtree building.
Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks
300 Marietta St., Downtown
Derrick Hayes reopened the Downtown location of Big Dave’s Cheesesteak in the former Waffle House beneath Der Biergarten on Marietta Street in January.
Heaps
2752 East Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur.
New Zealand native and hand pie purveyor Jake Harvey opened a permanent location of Heaps in Decatur. Read more about Heaps here.
Jet’s Pizza
4416 Hugh Howell Road, Tucker
A location of the pizza chain recently opened in Tucker on Hugh Howell, east of Lawrenceville Highway.
Brazilian Bakery Cafe Too
8363 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs
A location of Brazilian Bakery Cafe opened in Sandy Springs on Roswell Road. Beth McKibben wrote about the Marietta location last spring for “The Move” in her love to the guava and cheese pastels from the bakery-cafe.

The owners behind Buford Highway Venezuelan restaurant Arepa Grill opened a full-service location in the former Casa Robles space on Oak Street in Roswell. The restaurant includes a full bar and an expanded menu featuring new dishes like paella, gazpacho, and a Spanish omelet.
Politan Row @ The Forum
5155 Peachtree Pkwy, Peachtree Corners
The Peachtree Corners location of food hall Politan Row opened at The Forum and features seven restaurant stalls, including 26 Thai Kitchen & Bar, Boca Taqueria, Gekko Kitchen, Kimchi Red, LOL Burger Bar, Sahirah Kebab & Curry, and Sheesh Mediterranean.
Gianni and Mac’s
85 Church St., Marietta
Italian restaurant Gianni & Mac’s, backed by Cibo e Beve owner Gianni Betti and Mac’s Chophouse and Mac’s Raw Bar owner Randy McCray, opened on Marietta Square.

Communidad ATL
655 Highland Ave., Old Fourth Ward
Poco Loco owner and chef Nick Melvin will open a new Tex-Mex restaurant and market called Communidad ATL in the former Highland Bakery space this spring. Stay tuned for a story on Melvin’s new restaurant from Rough Draft.
Bar Avize
956 Brady Ave., Westside Atlanta
The adjoining cocktail lounge from Avize chef and owner Karl Gorline opens beside the restaurant in February for wine, cocktails, and bar food.
Midtown Social
1740 Marietta Blvd, Hills Park
Midtown Social will open in March in the former Olympic Flame Greek diner space on Marietta Boulevard. Expect tapas, breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch with cocktails here.
Van Leeuwen
Ponce City Market; Park Place, 4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody
Two locations of the Brooklyn-based ice cream chain will open later this year at Ponce City Market and Park Place in Dunwoody.
