The Atlanta Film Festival has announced its 2025 IMAGE Film Award recipients (Photo provided by the Atlanta Film Festival).

The Atlanta Film Festival plans to honor multiple artists and organizations during its IMAGE Film Award Gala, which will take place May 4 at Assembly Studios in Doraville.

The IMAGE Film Award honors those who have made “outstanding contributions to Georgia’s film industry and creative community,” according to a press release. Past honorees include Burt Reynolds, Spike Lee, and Parker Posey, among others.

This year’s honorees are Mary Ann Hughes, VP of Film and Television Production Planning at Disney ABC Television Group; Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Ray McKinnon; and the Georgia Film Academy.

In addition to the honorees, the Atlanta Film Festival has also announced a new panel for its Creative Conference, “A Conversation with Oscar-Winner Ray McKinnon and Emmy-Nominee Marshall Persinger.” This event will take place on May 3 at the Tara Theatre. Two other panels, “Independent Distribution Sponsored by Double A Film Side Service and Reel Friends” and “A Conversation with Award-winning Film/TV Writer and Director Scott Teems,” were also added to the lineup. 

The festival also added a new film to its lineup. “We Bury the Dead,” starring Daisy Ridley, will play at the Plaza Theatre on May 3.
