1. Intown real estate market holding steady

🏡 Uncertainty about the economy, increased tariffs, and weakened consumer confidence have dominated headlines since President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

That uncertainty has also trickled down to homebuyers and sellers, but agents said the Intown market is holding steady despite the economic shockwaves.

We talked to four seasoned real estate agents to get their take on the Intown market, what’s selling, and what buyers are looking for as they navigate shifting political winds and higher interest rates.

2. Six centenarians honored at celebration

💯 On May 21, residents, family, and friends gathered to celebrate the lives of the six 100-year-old and older residents of Renaissance on Peachtree in Buckhead.

The community celebrated Sandra McNeil, 100; Ruth Lewis, 100; Iris Finkel, 100; June Macklin, 100; Morton Waitzman, 101; and Rosa Fitterman, 102, with cake, gifts, and a commemoration of six incredible, long lives.

Each resident received a copy of a proclamation from the City of Brookhaven, as well as congratulations from the City of Atlanta and a message from Gov. Brian Kemp.

3. Cautious optimism from Georgia retailers on new drug prices

💊 Consumers in the U.S. typically pay far more for prescription drugs than consumers overseas. The federal government blames drug companies, who they say subsidize low prices by charging Americans more, according to a new proposal to lower drug costs.

The executive order from the White House promises that it will make prescription drugs in the U.S. more affordable.

The Georgia Pharmacy Association said its members are cautious about accepting any proposed change to drug pricing. The GPhA has over 1,400 members, including pharmacists, hospital staff, and academics.
