Rough Draft Atlanta is partnering with Community Farmers Markets to let you know what’s in season at your local market. Each week, we’ll share a list of ingredients that are farm fresh as well as a couple of recipes including those products that you can try at home.
Here’s what we’ve got for you this week: tomatoes cucumbers, zucchini, garlic, onions, cabbage, swiss chard, corn, green beans, kale, radishes, kohlrabi, bok choy, chives, potatoes, eggplant, collards, beans, peppers, microgreens, Gourmet mushrooms (oyster, chanterelles, lion’s mane, shiitake, chanterelles), peaches, plums, figs, blueberries, melons, okra, winter squashes, herbs (basil, mint, lemon balm, wormwood, cilantro, oregano, parsley, dill), pecans, smoked salmon and trout, flowers (marigolds, Sunflowers, Cosmos, Mixed flower bouquets), pastured pork, wild caught shrimp, eggs, goat + sheep cheese, milk, jam, honey, oils, teas, hot sauce, vinegars, nut butters, spice blends, ghee, pickles, and pasta.
Atlanta non-profit Community Farmers Markets (CFM) has been building community through farmers markets since 2011. Operating five weekly outdoor farmers markets and seven farm stands at MARTA stations is one of the strategies by which the organization addresses food access in Atlanta. CFM also offers educational programming in the community, financial incentives to make local food more affordable, and professional development for small businesses. See you at the farmers markets!

Peach Tomato Caprese Recipe:
Ingredients:
- Heirloom Tomatoes
- Peaches
- Olive oil
- Balsamic glaze
- Black pepper
- Basil
- Mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Cut tomatoes and peaches into wedges.
- Secure basil leaf and large chunk of mozzarella to each wedge with a toothpick.
- Plate by alternating peach and tomato wedges and top with hearty drizzle of olive oil, balsamic glaze and a generous grind of fresh black pepper.

Peach and Tomato Bruschetta Recipe:
Ingredients:
- About 5 medium-large tomatoes of any variety
- 3 small (or 2 large) ripe peaches
- 2 garlic cloves (more or less to your taste)
- Fresh cut basil
- Bread of your choice
- 1/2 cup of a good olive oil
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar
- Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
Directions:
- Warm olive oil in a sauce pan. Add thinly sliced garlic to infuse flavor (Careful not to burn the garlic!).
- Set oil aside to cool.
- Dice chop tomatoes and peaches (leaving skin on).
- Finely chop fresh basil (do not use dried basil).
- Mix together with garlic flavored olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Serve atop crusty bread slices, toasted with olive oil.
