Residents can Celebrate 20 Years of Sandy Springs: Picnic in the Park in celebration of the city’s 20th anniversary on Nov. 22 at the City Green.

Attendees can bring picnic baskets to the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The picnic will join with the last Sandy Springs Farmers Market of the season at 1 Galambos Way, according to a news release.

Visitors can also buy food prepared by the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center’s executive chef. The release said that menu items will include breakfast and lunch favorites such as French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, chicken fingers, and beverages. Mimosas and Bloody Marys will be available at a cash bar.

A special anniversary cake and entertainment will greet the picnic-goers. Seating can be found at a continuous shared table stretching along Blue Stone Road between Galambos Way and Mount Vernon Road. The release said the table will serve as a powerful symbol of unity and inclusion. Residents are invited to sit, share a story, and enjoy a meal together.

The anniversary celebration will include a special video showing of the city’s oral history project, according to the release. This presentation showcases milestones and memories from some of its most influential residents. It includes those who worked for incorporation and representatives from the youngest generation. Children aged six to 10 asked the questions for the video.
