Countdown Over Atlanta

Citywide fireworks and a drone show countdown visible in Downtown and Midtown will light up the Atlanta sky as 2026 approaches. According to a Dec. 30 press release from the city, the drone show begins at 11:45 p.m., followed by fireworks at midnight. Those with obstructed views were encouraged to patronize local businesses that have rooftop decks or join friends and family who might have an elevated view.
Cosmic Countdown
11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 31
The Illuminarium, located along the Beltline Eastside Trail, will host a variety of fun activities, including face painting, coloring, a photo booth, prize giveaways, and more! At the end of every hour, visitors will blast off to the Illuminarium Space Station to join countries around the world as they count down to 2026.
Noon Year’s Eve at The Roof
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 31
A family-friendly early celebration with games, activities, and an early countdown for kids at The Roof at Ponce City Market in Old Fourth Ward.
