The Brookhaven City Council will swear in returning council members John Funny and Jennifer Owens at a Jan. 5 special-called meeting starting at 4:30 p.m.
In addition, the council will elect a mayor pro tem, and consider employment contracts for city manager Christian Sigman and city attorney Jeremy Berry.
Owens (District 2) and Funny (District 4) both ran unopposed in the Nov. 5, 2025 elections.
Other action items include contract discussions about Sandra Bryant for city clerk, Laura Stevenson as senior judge for the Brookhaven Municipal Court, Bryan C. Ramos as chief judge for the Brookhaven Municipal Court, Schwarz Law Firm, LLC for solicitor, Michael F. Johnston, CPA, CIA as Internal Auditor for the city.
The council will take up the business of the city on Jan. 13 at its regularly scheduled meeting.
