WABE and the Trust for Public Land are hosting a Jan. 29 screening of the new PBS documentary “From Rails to Trails.”

The documentary, which is narrated by Edward Norton, is about the national movement to transform old rail lines into walking and biking trails, amid local and legal pushback. The screening will take place at the Atlanta History Center, according to a press release.

The event will also feature a panel discussion after the screening. The panelists will be Peter Harnik, author of “From Trails to Rails: The Making of America’s Active Transportation Network” and co-founder of the Rails to Trails Conservancy; George Dusenbury, vice president Southeast of the Trust for Public Land; and Clyde Higgs, president and CEO of Atlanta Beltline, Inc. The conversation will be moderated by WABE President and CEO Jennifer Dorian.

The event is free to attend, but guests should register online. The screening is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
