Interactive exhibit invites community to shape Norcross’ future
🚂 Visitors and residents are invited to the “Norcross Then & Now” exhibit, April 13-30 at the Norcross Welcome Center & History Museum (The Rectory), at 17 College Street.
Hosted as part of Georgia Cities Week, the exhibit offers a unique look at Norcross’ journey from a railroad town in 1870 to a growing, international community in the 21st century. Guests can explore how the city has evolved while gaining a deeper appreciation for the people, places, and moments that continue to shape its future.
One highlight of this year’s exhibit is the interactive feature, “Phone the Future.” Visitors are invited to pick up a vintage-style phone and leave a voicemail sharing their hopes, dreams, and aspirations for the future of Norcross. The messages will be preserved as part of a digital time capsule, creating a meaningful connection between today’s community and future generations.

In just four months, Tucker Town Green receives more than 10,000 visitors
🌳 In November 2025, Tucker residents celebrated the opening of Tucker Town Green, the city’s new two-acre public space designed to catalyze economic development in downtown. The $8.6 million park includes a stage, state-of-the-art public bathrooms, two playgrounds, fountains, and a bike repair station.
After only four months, Matthew Lee, the Executive Director of the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District, said that the park is already having a positive impact on downtown Tucker. In a blog post, Lee wrote that approximately 11,000 people visited Tucker Town Green from Jan. 1 to March 15.
Tucker Town Green’s spring programming began on March 15 with the Sunday Showcase, a monthly outdoor concert series. The next concert is on April 12 at noon and will feature the Americana/roots-rock band Run Katie Run.

‘A Real Estate Bonus’: Stories of Atlanta by Lance Russell
VIA SAPORTAREPORT
✉️ G.W. Collier was one of those Atlantans who arrived just as the ground itself was beginning to whisper opportunity. When he first came to the region, there was little more than wilderness, wagon ruts, and the faint outlines of a future not yet agreed upon.
By the time Marthasville took on the name Atlanta, Collier had already found his footing. He became the city’s first postmaster, anchoring communication in a place that was still figuring out what it wanted to be. To carry out his duties, he purchased a small parcel of land for $150 and built an even smaller store – part mercantile, part mailroom, part gathering place for a growing town.
That modest structure stood at a crossroads that would one day become Five Points, where paths converged, and a city began to take shape. And when that first building no longer matched the moment, Collier replaced it with a sturdier brick presence – a signal that Atlanta was no longer temporary.
