Lorien Vilchez, who has worked alongside chefs Shaun Hergatt (Hotel Phoenix), Ron Hsu (Lazy Betty), and Aaron Brooks (Four Seasons Miami), will become the first female executive chef of The Select in Sandy Springs.
Vilchez contributed to the team at Lazy Betty when it earned its first Michelin star in 2023, and was with the Forth Hotel when it garnered a Michelin Key Award in 2025. She also picked up a 2023 Star Chef nomination when she worked with Hsu at Humble Pie before the restaurant closed last year, and won “Best of Atlanta” recognitions for brunch, restaurant theme, and desserts.

Vilchez’s background leans heavily toward restaurant openings and systems-building. She has helped launch and develop standard operating procedures at Hotel Phoenix, Humble Pie, and the Four Seasons Hotel Miami. Vilchez is trilingual in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language, and holds advanced management certifications.
Vilchez describes her cooking style as a blend of Peruvian and Caribbean flavors executed through French technique. At The Select, she plans to fold that approach into new dishes, while keeping longtime menu favorites in place.
Her first signature addition will be a shrimp saffron gnocchetti sardi, built with charred tomatoes, fennel, Calabrian chilis, and pangrattato.
