Atlanta’s dogs will take to the red carpet on May 3 at the return of the Mutt Gala, a canine fashion show organized by Midtown Alliance.

Peachtree Street will be closed off to cars on Sunday and transformed into a block party for the fourth annual event, which will include a doggy red carpet complete with “puparazzi,” a costume contest with local celebrity judges, and emceed by Brigitte Bidet.

Attendees will also enjoy music by DJ Ooomami; food by Tres Jardines Food Truck, Cooks with Passion, and Tutti Gelati; free pet sketches by Jeremy Ray; a roaming photobooth; and vendors selling dog and pet products.

Lifeline Animal Project and Hero Dog Rescue will also have some foster dogs on site for adoption. After the main costume contest, anyone with a foster dog will have a chance to show them off on the red carpet for free. Attendees can register their foster dog from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Mutt Gala begins at 2 p.m., and the costume contest starts at 4 p.m. The costume contest is sold out, but spectators can still attend with their dogs for free. More information and registration can be found on Eventbrite.
