Norcross Porchfest debuts Saturday
May 1 — It’s Hayden from Rough Draft Atlanta with my weekly newsletter on Norcross. The Norcross Public Arts Commission plans to unveil five bronze statues of white squirrels at city parks in May, as part of phase one of its project celebrating the rare rodent.
🐿️ Check out a photo of one of the white squirrels of Norcross “in the wild” in the March 27 edition of the weekly Young Norcross newsletter. If you have some good ones, send them and some details to hayden@roughdraftatlanta.com.
Here are a few newsy items before we begin.
🎸 The first-ever Norcross Porchfest kicks off in the historic downtown district at noon tomorrow. Before you head to Thrasher Park, check out my story about the young Norcross family who organized the community-centered musical festival.
🏛️ The Norcross City Council meets for its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 4 on the first floor of city hall. Here is the meeting agenda and live-stream link.
🏠 The city is asking HOA board members and property managers to connect with Norcross staff so they can provide important alerts, community updates, and engagement opportunities.
🗳️ This Tuesday, I went to Georgia Public Broadcasting Headquarters in midtown Atlanta for the Georgia Secretary of State primary debates. After watching both parties debate back-to-back, I’m not sure if Republicans and Democrats live in the same universe.
Now on to this week’s Norcross stories,
😎 Hayden
