About 250 yards south of the initial scene, Sandy Springs police officers said they found a gray Toyota Tacoma with significant damage resting against the right-side wall of the highway.

Crews resumed preliminary construction activities along the SR 400 corridor in April. Overnight construction, closures, and detours are planned throughout the project’s five-year duration.

According to the Sandy Springs Police Department, the driver of the Toyota Tacoma is charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree and a violation of Georgia’s Move Over Law.

The department did not release any additional details. The investigation remains active and ongoing, barring the release of records, according to city policy.
