Local artists invited to apply for several metro Atlanta open calls

Juried by landscape painter Debra Nadelhoffer, a Plein Air Salon finalist and Oil Painters of America signature member, this exhibition runs Sept. 3 through Dec. 18 at Buckhead’s Grandview Avenue Gallery. On view Sept. 1 through Nov. 13 at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, this show leans into autumn’s moodier moments. Organizers are asking for work with “rich tones and layered meanings,” pieces that sit with change, memory and introspection. Just original, handmade portraiture and figure work at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, Oct. 3 through Dec. 5. Set along Ponce de Leon Avenue, this two-day show (Oct. 10-11) will bring the works of about125 artists and makers to a loyal, design-minded intown crowd who come back year after year. Categories span fine art, folk art and handmade craft. Details here.
