About 5,000 square feet of retail space within the West Paces Ferry Shopping Center will soon be available to lease after the century-old Wender & Roberts Pharmacy announced its relocation to a new space a few doors down.
The family-owned pharmacy will continue operating from its current location at 1262 West Paces Ferry Road until its new space is ready next to the Starbucks on the shopping center’s east side.
Tracey Cobb, community relations director at SRS Real Estate Partners, said the move allows the independent pharmacy to remain in the shopping center and continue to serve the community without interruption. The large chunk of retail space at West Paces Ferry rarely becomes available, according to the leasing agency, with a “longstanding tenant roster and premier Buckhead location.”
Family-owned business
Starbucks is located in an endcap at West Paces Ferry Shopping Center. A few years ago, Starbucks put a drive-thru-only location directly across the street. The company then decided to reduce its space by about 1,750 square feet, which Wender & Roberts Pharmacy will occupy.
Wender & Roberts owner Loren Pierce said the business has proudly served the surrounding community since 1962 and will continue to do so.
“While the industry has changed dramatically over the decades, our commitment to our customers remains the same,” Pierce said. “This move within West Paces Ferry Shopping Center is about right-sizing for today’s health and wellness focus, not about stepping back.”
Originally opened in 1959, West Paces Ferry Shopping Center encompasses about 90,000 square feet of commercial retail space and has also remained under family ownership throughout its history.
Senior Vice President Brittany McCall of SRS Real Estate Partners is marketing the available space and representing the shopping center’s ownership.
