DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs partners with Major League Baseball player Jordan Walker to host a Youth Baseball Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shoals Creek Park I, 3642 Glenwood Road in Decatur.
The free clinic will provide boys and girls ages 5 to12 with an opportunity to sharpen their baseball skills, learn from a Major League Baseball player and be inspired by an athlete who began his baseball journey in their own community.
“The clinic is designed to create a fun and encouraging environment where young players can build their skills, confidence, and love for the game while learning from one of baseball’s standout players,” according to an announcement from the county.
Walker’s accomplishments make his return especially meaningful for young athletes in the community.
“From his early days with Belvedere Little League to becoming a St. Louis Cardinals right fielder, a 2026 MLB All- Star, and the 2026 Home Run Derby Champion, his journey reflects the impact of dedication, perseverance and strong community roots. By returning to share his experience and knowledge, Walker offers participants not only instruction on the game, but also a powerful example of how local youth can pursue big goals and achieve success at the highest level,” the announcement said..
Families are encouraged to register early online only, as participation is subject to availability.
