Mixed-use development planned for Lindbergh

A joint venture of Lane Company and The Dawson Company will build a $80 million mixed-use development in the Lindbergh area of Buckhead, which will include more than 80,000 square feet of retail space facing Piedmont Road at Garson Drive.

Potential retail tenants include a grocery store that’s part of a national chain, as well as a bookstore and restaurant. The development also will include roughly 350 ultra-luxury apartment homes atop the retail space. Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2008.

“This sort of development is perfect for this popular, rapidly-growing intown area,” said Lane Company CEO Bill Donges. “People will be able to leave their cars in the garage, walk downstairs from their apartments to get almost anything they need.”

“I see this development as a continuation of the vision that we set in motion with the development we have undertaken across the street at Lindbergh City Center,” said Harold Dawson, Jr, president and CEO of The Dawson Company.

Lane Realty Construction, LLC will build the mixed-use community, and Lane Management, LLC will manage the apartments.
