Trader Joe’s, the Monrovia, Calif.-based grocery chain, is not giving a firm date for the opening of its Buckhead store at 3183 Peachtree Road N.E., but at least we know the opening is planned for October.
When Trader Joe’s does open — offering a selection of private-label snacks, prepared foods, frozen meals and inexpensive wines — it will be just blocks away from two direct competitors, Whole Foods Market on West Paces Ferry Road and the totally renovated and refocused Kroger concept, Fresh Fare, which also is scheduled to open in October. Fresh Fare will be in the space formerly occupied by the “Disco Kroger” on Piedmont Road just north of Peachtree Road.
The Buckhead store will be Trader Joe’s sixth store in metro Atlanta
