Based on the idea that no one should ever be denied the opportunity to marry the one they love, wedding professionals from around the country joined together to form Wish Upon a Wedding. The national not-for-profit organization centers around granting weddings, vow renewals, and/or civil union ceremonies to coupes facing terminal illness or other special circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. The Atlanta Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding launches this August, with an official launch party on Aug. 19 at The Mansion Elan in Atlanta at 6 p.m.
Wedding planner Liz Guthrie of San Jose, Ca founded Wish Upon a Wedding in January 2010 to celebrate the determination and spirit of these terminally-ill couples by granting dream-wedding wishes, with the intention that chosen recipients will inspire others facing similar situations.

Wow, what a great idea. I am a San Jose wedding officiant and would be happy to participate in this project. I am always looking for a way to give back. Two thumbs up to Liz Guthrie.
