DeKalb County health officials are holding a student art contest as part of an annual observance to prevent substance abuse by children.

Entries in the “Picture DeKalb Healthy!” contest are due by Oct. 31, the DeKalb Board of Health said in a press release. Entrants are asked to submit a single piece of artwork showing a smoke-free DeKalb. Winners will be announced by Nov. 9.

Submissions should be 18” x 24” or smaller. A variety of styles of work will be accepted, including paintings, ink, pencil or crayon drawings, and collages. Entries must be labeled with a student’s full name, school, and grade level.

Top prizes include Nintendo Wii Fit game consoles and Apple iPads.
