Dunwoody City Council is to discuss firing City Attorney Brian Anderson when it next meets.

The agenda for the May 14 council meeting includes a closed meeting and a discussion of a resolution ending Anderson’s employment with the city.

The resolution says Mayor Mike Davis and council “no longer have confidence in the abilities and judgment of the city attorney” and that Davis has advised Anderson that he should either resign or face termination. The resolution says the termination would be effective May 14.

Davis declined to comment when reached May 12.

“It’ll be a discussion item during the city council meeting. My guess is it will be discussed rather widely,” Davis said.

In his blog, City Councilman John Heneghan said Davis added the agenda item at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 11. Heneghan advised his readers: “Do me a favor, please don’t jump to conclusions on this.”
