The Atlanta BeltLine Running Series has added the Atlanta BeltLine Northside 1K, a run designed to get younger runners engaged and active on the Atlanta BeltLine. Held immediately following the Atlanta BeltLine Northside 5K on Saturday, April 27, the event will feature an abbreviated course and will be limited to 100 participants, ages 12 and under.

This year’s Atlanta BeltLine Northside 5K kicks off at 8 a.m. Beginning and ending in the scenic Tanyard Creek Park, the 5K is a run/walk on the Atlanta BeltLine Northside Trail through Tanyard Creek, Howard, and Ardmore Park and along streets in Collier Hills, Collier Hills North, and Ardmore neighborhoods. In addition to the 1K, post-race activities will include prizes and more.

The Atlanta Police Department and Fire Departments will have a re-match at this year’s event, featuring a competition to see which team has the fastest runners. “We are sure the Police/Fire Challenge will excite our young participants and encourage them to get out and run,” said Atlanta BeltLine Running Series Race Director Dan Popovic. “Kids can meet and get their pictures taken with some of their hometown heroes.”

Registration for the Northside 1K Youth Run is $10; additional information is available at Run.BeltLine.org.
