Public Safety Director Terry Sult is leaving Sandy Springs for a new job as police chief of Hampton, Va.

Virginia-based WTKR.com reports that Sult will take over as chief on Oct. 7.

Sult was police chief in Sandy Springs, but was recently promoted to Public Safety Director. His successor is current Police Chief Ken DeSimone.

Senior Staff:

Public Safety Director Terry Sult has tendered his resignation in order to accept a new position as Chief of Police for the the City of Hampton, Virginia.  Terry has done an outstanding job as our former chief of police as well as serving as our public safety director.  His promotion reflects very favorably on him as well as the City of Sandy Springs.

Please join me in congratulating Terry on his new position and thank him for all that he has done while serving as a member of our executive management team.
