A Georgia Tech student has apologized for writing and distributing an email titled “Luring Your Rapebait,” which encouraged his fellow fraternity brothers to lure girls into sex by plying them with alcohol. After Jezebel magazine published the letter earlier this week, it quickly went viral on the Internet. The college and the fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, both launched investigations into the incident.

The apology is posted at the Georgia Tech student blog, Technique.  “The content of this email was offensive and it should never have been written,” Matthew writes at the beginning of the letter, but also states that it was an attempt at “outrageous satire” that went horribly wrong.

You can read the rest of the apology at this link.
