Creative Loafing is reporting that the cyclist critically injured in a hit-and-run accident last night in Morningside is Gregory Thomas Germani, creator of the popular website Atlanta Time Machine.  Germani’s last name was incorrect on the police report.

According to the police report, witnesses said Germani was riding his bike on Montgomery Ferry Road and was almost hit by a red SUV (possibly a Dodge Nitro) turning onto the road from Flagler Avenue. Germani argued with the SUV driver, a black male, who then chased Germani down Flagler Avenue. No one saw the SUV hit Germani, but he was found moments later under a car parked on the curb and the red SUV was speeding away, making a right turn on to Rock Springs Road toward Piedmont.

Germani was rushed to Grady Hospital with head trauma. If you have information about the hit-and-run, contact the Atlanta Police.

  1. Prayers for Mr. Germani. I have always loved his website Atlanta Time Machine. I hope they catch the person that did this to him. Totally unbelievable. What a tragedy.
