Brookhaven City Council on June 17 extended a moratorium on sign applications while the city works to straighten out problems with its zoning map.
The council voted 3-0 to extend the moratorium until Aug. 12. The moratorium was initially put in place June 10 and was to expire June 17.
City officials are reviewing the city’s zoning map for errors officials believe were inherited when the new city took over zoning from DeKalb County. The review began last December. Mayor Pro Tem Rebecca Williams said city officials hope to complete the review in August.
