From police reports dated June 29 through July 12.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Rape
1st block of Peachtree Valley Road, NE –A rape was reported on July 1. A woman said her aunt’s boyfriend sexually assaulted her during a visit for summer break.
Assault
1900 block of Manchester Street, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 30. A woman said a man, who was refused service at the spa, became irate and threw a pot, which struck her in her head. He also tipped over the water cooler. He then went outside, broke the front window, and left in a white pickup truck. The victim was unable to rewind the cameras at the location.
3000 block of Pharr Court North Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on July 1. A woman said the suspect, the son of a resident at the apartment complex, sprayed her in the face with pepper spray. She and the suspect have had previous altercations, since the man sleeps in the storage room where she has furniture. She said she was in the hallway waiting by the elevator when she said, “I hope [he’s] not in the storage room,” using a derogatory word to describe him. He came out of the storage room, walked over to her, and said, “You hope I’m not sleeping in what?” He then sprayed her in the face with pepper spray and kept spraying it, she said. He was not located. Grady EMS administered water to the victim.
2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on July 6. A woman was in a verbal altercation with a male friend that escalated to a physical fight where she was dragged around a room and a door was slammed in her face.
3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on July 10. A woman said her boyfriend got upset that she did not tip at a pizza place. He pushed her out of the car, then ran over her with the vehicle, leaving multiple lacerations on her body.
Robbery
300 block of Pharr Road, NE –A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 30. A man said he met two women at a bar and invited them to his house. When he woke up the next morning, he discovered he had a black eye and multiple abrasions, and $800 was charged on his debit card.
600 block of Andover Drive, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 1. A suspect in a black Ford Focus pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded his three leaf blowers from the back of his vehicle.
2400 block of Garson Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 1. The arrestee approached a man as he was walking on the sidewalk and told him to give him money. When the victim refused, the arrestee motioned to him as if he had a weapon under his shirt.
1000 block of Brookwood Valley Circle, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 2. As a woman walked her dog, she passed the leasing office, and saw two men standing near a tree. She continued walking, and one of the men walked in front of her and said, “Give me your phone!” He snatched her iPhone from her, pushed her down on the ground, then, both men ran away. The phone was tracked to somewhere near 2025 Peachtree Road.
2000 block of Main Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 8. A woman said a man pointed a silver-and-black handgun and demanded her purse. She said the purse had $20, an iPhone3 and her Georgia identification.
3100 block of Paces Ferry Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 9. An unidentified man with a black handgun walked up to a woman while she was sitting in her car and demanded her keys and her purse, before getting into her car and driving away.
1st block of Lakeland Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 12. The victim was walking home from a bar when approached by three men in a car. One suspect fired a shot in the air, then struck the victim in the face with the gun. The suspect took the victim’s wallet with $80 cash, an iPhone and several credit cards.
Burglary
1000 block of Peachtree Park, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 29. A man said he had a firearm on a stand by his bed. Company came over and later that night, after everyone left, he noticed it was missing.
1800 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on July 2. A woman said someone took four laptops, six professional lights for events, six Boss speakers and one trailer.
2000 block of Bolton Road, NW –On July 4, a man and woman said their place of business was burglarized. They said assorted clothing for resale, plumbing fixtures and tools, one wine cooler and electrical supplies were stolen. A witness said a woman named “Tina” and a man called “Ralph” cut the lock on the garage, filled up the truck with a bunch of stuff and left.
2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on July 5. The victim returned home to find the door damaged and slightly open. The victim reported a stolen AK-47, laptop and green backpack.
2700 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on July 6. The suspect broke into a car dealership with a lock-picking kit. Once in the dealership, he took some keys to one of the new vehicles. The suspect was caught and arrested. He was charged with burglary, criminal intent of theft by taking auto, possession of tools and impersonating a police officer.
1st block of White Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on July 10. A man said his residence was burglarized and a stove, a refrigerator and an oven were missing. Entry was made through the kitchen window latch.
1st block of Brittany Way, NE – A residential burglary was reported on July 12. The rear patio door handle was damaged. A woman encountered a man who informed her he was “trying to get his bag.” He then said he thought he had the wrong apartment. No entry was made; no items were taken. The unit next door was also damaged.
Larceny
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on June 30. The arrestee was seen selecting a $12.98 teddy bear and attempting to leave without paying.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on July 2. A man went into the store and placed 25 packs of Bic cigarette lighters inside of his jacket, tried to conceal the items, and passed all point of sale. The incident was witnessed by another man. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on July 2. Surveillance footage shows a woman concealing two bottles of perfume inside her handbag. Store employees approached the suspect and requested she return the merchandise and exit the store. The suspect complied. She is suspected of taking several other items that were not returned.
3400 block of Roswell Road, NW – A larceny from a church was reported on July 2. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet from her purse while it was hanging on the coat rack.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on July 3. Three men walked into the store, grabbed over 80 items of clothing worth $7,500, and ran out. They left in a brown Infiniti FX vehicle. Video is available.
1st block of Irby Avenue, NW – A larceny at a nightclub was reported on July 5. A woman said she had her black purse sitting on a table next to her while she was dancing, and when she turned around, she noticed that her purse was missing. She eventually found it in the patio area, but her iPhone5, iPhone4 and a white wallet containing several credit cards were missing.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on July 10. Employees said a man wearing an orange vest and khaki pants entered and asked for assistance. While assisting the suspect, the clerk was holding two bottles of Jimmy Choo cologne in her hand. The suspect snatched a bottle and fled the store.
1st block of Iron Bound Place, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on July 11. The carpet cleaning crew came in and took jewelry out of a box that was under the victim’s sink.
Larceny from Auto
3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 1. A man said someone broken into his 2006 Acura RSX and a laptop, a Northface backpack and a black wallet with a driver’s license was taken. The doors were left unlocked.
2900 block of N. Fulton Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 6. A suspect stole an iPhone and a pistol from a man’s vehicle. There was no forced entry. The victim said he could have left his vehicle unlocked.
1400 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 7. Three suspects were arrested for breaking into a blue 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe. They were driving a white Buick. An Apple laptop and a briefcase were stolen, and a black handgun was recovered at the location. The items were taken into custody. The suspects were cited for larceny from vehicle, damage to property, obstruction of officers, and fleeing /attempting to elude police, and were transported to Fulton County Jail.
3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a gym was reported on July 8. A man said his 2006 Nissan 350 was broken into, and $300 and a debit card were stolen. He said he went to the gym, and when he returned to his locker, he discovered someone had broken into his locker and taken his car keys.
1st block of Irby Avenue, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 9. The victim returned to the parked vehicle to find a window broken and three messenger bags containing religious paperwork stolen.
3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 12. A bag that contained a laptop, ID and $6,000 in cash was taken from the rear floorboard.
Auto Theft
2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – An auto theft was reported on July 5. A man parked his vehicle, leaving it running with the keys inside. Upon returning to the vehicle he found it was gone.
3000 block of Pharr Court North Drive, NW – An auto theft was reported on July 6. A woman discovered her white 2010 Subaru Outback missing from her assigned parking space at the apartments. A pair of specialized cycling shoes, cycling cleats, gloves and a helmet were also gone.
4200 block of Rickenbacker Way, NE – An auto theft was reported on July 6. The victims’ vehicle was stolen from the front of their house. The victims said they left their vehicle unlocked with the keys in it.
2000 block of Springlake Drive, NW – An auto theft was reported on July 7. A man and woman said their 2004 gray Honda Pilot was stolen. They said a driver’s license, a house key, 120 cloth napkins, four tablecloths and a wallet were stolen.
