Dancing Goats Coffee Bar at Ponce City Market is not closing, but expanding at Ponce City Market. Rumors began circulating of the popular spot’s closure after an erroneous report from a local blog said that City Winery would take over the space.
Owner/operator Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters said in a media release that Dancing Goats will be expanding its interior space to offer more inside seating. Construction will result in the coffeehouse being closed for three days the first week in August, likely the 2nd – 4th. However, Dancing Goats plans on serving coffee from a limited menu outside during the brief closure. The additional space was formerly part of the PCM leasing offices, which are now located inside the main building.
“We look forward to welcoming City Winery as our next door neighbor, but Dancing Goats will remain where it is and, in fact, be growing in size,” said Larry Challain, president and CEO of Batdorf & Bronson. “I can’t imagine how the neighborhood would react if we tried to close. It’s really their coffeehouse.”
Batdorf & Bronson also owns and operates the Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Decatur and will open a third Dancing Goats in Midtown next year.
