Last weekend crews performed a bridge deck pour on the Mt. Vernon Highway bridge over I-285. Upcoming work will include installing new stormwater drainage and grading operations. (GDOT)

If the weather permits, contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will close lanes nightly on I-285 eastbound for construction work on the Mt. Vernon Highway bridge over the interstate.

A single right, eastbound closure of the acceleration lane from the entrance ramp of Riverside Drive is planned overnight Monday, March 11 through Friday morning, March 14. Closures would start at 10 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. the next morning.

Intermittent traffic pacing and lane and ramp closures also may occur within the work zone.

Real-time work status and traffic condition information can be found at 511ga.org or through the Georgia 511 app.

The work for the I-285 Westbound Auxiliary Lane Project is one of the I-285 Advanced Improvement Projects.
