Cooperative Extension is launching it’s first “Let Them Cook,” kids’ camp, organized by a register dietitian. The camp’s mission is to teach the youth to gradually add new, healthy produce into foods they already like to eat, and develop a broader pallet. The two-week camp will have sessions on: the basics of using knives and safety, how to shop on a budget, how to cook basic meals and how to cook their favorite TikTok recipes.

At the end of the camp, the students will be able to keep their own cooking utensils and fees include the items for the ingredients, as well as meals throughout the day.

Registration is $250 and includes all ingredient purchases for meal prep, lunch,
snacks for the day and cooking equipment. Campers must attend both weeks and
enroll through 4-H enrollment.

Payments can be done in installments and are
being accepted over the phone at 404-613-4920 until June 30, 2024. Registration
is available online at: tinyurl.com/ffletthemcook

Camp will take place 9 a.m. to 4 pm., Tuesday-Friday, July 9-12 and July 16-19, 2024 at the UGA Extension East Point Office, 1757 E. Washington Road, East Point, GA.
