The East Lake Foundation will host its second annual Run For East Lake 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, Aug. 3 presented by the East Lake Family YMCA.
The 5K and Fun Run directly benefit the East Lake Foundation’s mission through educational, housing, community wellness and economic vitality programs. This event will bring together community members of all ages to run, walk or jog in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.
Starting and concluding at Charles R. Drew Charter School’s Junior and Senior Academy, the 5K route will lead attendees through a scenic and immersive tour of the East Lake community, including the Villages of East Lake, East Lake Family YMCA, Charlie Yates Golf Course and near the foundation’s newest affordable housing development, The Trust at East Lake. A highlight of the race will be the opportunity to run on the back nine of the newly renovated course at the historic East Lake Golf Club, which will be unveiled at this year’s TOUR Championship, August 28 to September 1. The Fun Run, 400-meter dash, will take place on the Drew Charter School track and is open to all ages.
