
Sidewalks will be the topic at an open house on Thursday, March 20 at Sandy Springs City Hall as the city discusses programs funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
No formal presentation will be made, but staff will be available to discuss the projects and answer questions., according to a new release from the city. The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Barfield Conference Room on the second floor of city hall at 1 Galambos Way.
The projects intend to improve pedestrian accessibility in the City. Information on the following sidewalk projects will be shared:
- Hope Road
- Long Island Drive
- Northwood Drive (sidewalk upgrades and signalized pedestrian crossing)
The Community Development Block Grant is a federal program that supports community development activities, and providing grants to states and local governments.
The sidewalk improvements are included in the City’s CDBG Consolidated Plan, the release said. The CDBG Consolidated Plan is a five-year plan that describes the city’s community development priorities and goals based on an assessment of housing and development needs.
