Atlanta Police said the owner of a horse found dead on Peachtree Street in Downtown on Sunday morning will not be charged.
According to APD, officers responded to the intersection of Peachtree and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 12:30 a.m. on April 6.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased horse. Officers spoke to the owner who stated that his horse suffered a medical emergency and collapsed on the sidewalk of the location. The owner of the horse called 911 to report the incident.
Responding officers coordinated efforts with both the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and Fulton County Animal Services to ensure the safe and respectful removal of the animal.
