Marking time
Aug. 20 — Atlanta’s creative story is told through both the artists who came before and the ones pushing forward today.
Photographer Jim Alexander fits into both of those categories. At 90, Atlanta’s first Master Artist is still capturing the culture around him and was recently honored with a milestone exhibition and birthday celebration at The Sun ATL. Read on for a snapshot of the event.
For the Hambidge Center, honoring creativity means building new spaces for it to thrive. Next week, Hambidge Hive – a sky-high takeover of Uptown Atlanta’s East Tower – opens, turning 30,000 square feet into a temporary creative hub filled with installations, pop-ups, and panoramic views of the city. We talked to Hambidge Executive Director Jamie Badoud about what to expect from the pop-up gallery.
Atlanta keeps finding ways to make art part of the fabric of its future.
Hold space.
