The City of Atlanta has unveiled ATL.Direct, a digital newsroom that transforms how residents access information about their city government.
The comprehensive platform serves as Atlanta’s central hub for real-time updates, spotlighting the dedicated work of public servants while amplifying stories that traditionally go unreported, according to a release from the city
Drawing content from every city department and office, ATL.Direct operates as a true municipal newsroom, offering residents and visitors an inside look at the people, projects, and programs driving Atlanta’s progress.
“ATL.Direct represents our commitment to delivering information that is both accessible and innovative,” said Mayor Andre Dickens in the release. “As a city that embraces cutting-edge technology, this platform demonstrates how we’re leveraging digital tools to strengthen the vital connection between government and community.”
The site features stories and updates from nearly every municipal department, creating an unparalleled resource for residents. Key sections include:
Pathway for Home – Showcases resources for residents experiencing homelessness while sharing compelling personal stories of Atlantans on their journey toward stable housing.
Road to FIFA – Serves as the central information hub for Atlanta’s preparations to host the FIFA World Cup™ in 2026, highlighting city investments, infrastructure developments, and stories connecting this global event to local communities.
Progress in Action – Provides real-time tracking of infrastructure improvements and key initiatives from Mayor Andre Dickens’ Moving Atlanta Forward agenda, enabling residents to monitor project developments as they happen.
“Too often, negative news dominates headlines while the stories of everyday progress and the dedicated people behind them remain invisible,” Chief Communications Officer Allison Fouché said in the release. “With funding for public access information being reduced nationwide, it’s crucial that we bridge this gap to ensure fact-based, truthful information continues reaching our constituents.”
