Brookhaven’s upgraded ice-skating rink in Brookhaven Park begins Saturday, Dec. 20.

Rudolph’s Rink will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Brookhaven Park, 4158 Peachtree Rd., and will remain open through Jan. 4, to mesh with the winter break for DeKalb County Schools. The rink will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas, and Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

“We’re excited to bring an upgraded ice-skating rink with real ice to Brookhaven Park this year,” said Council Member Madeleine Simmons, in a release from the city. “It’s the perfect family-friendly activity to enjoy this holiday season.”

Skaters will be able to register online beginning Mon. Dec. 15 for free 45-minute sessions, with a limited number of walk-ups available, the releases said. Skaters must fille out a registration form with and sign a waiver for each participant. Skate sizes range from kids’ size 8 through adult size 14.

Rudolph’s Rink will serve as the anchor for other Holidays in the ’Haven festivities at Brookhaven Park, including “Santa’s Village” (arts and crafts), “Festive Food Lane” (food trucks and concessions), and “Grinch Games” (family lawn game area). In addition, “Santa Paws” and a mobile vet clinic will also join the Holidays in the ‘Haven festivities on Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Park dog park.

Other festivities will include “City Centre Santa” on Dec 13, and Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Brookhaven City Centre, 4001 Peachtree Rd.
